Álvaro Castro, the Dão personality par excellence, is regarded as the winemaker in the fine Dão wine-growing region with the highest quality standards, which he of course consistently puts into practice on his winery. The ancient granite soils give the expressive wines their unmistakable character, the careful quantity and quality control, as well as the painstaking work in the vineyard, density, pressure and multi-layered complexity.
The top wine of the Quinta from old vines 65% Touriga Nacional and 35% Tinta Roriz, from the highest location of the vineyard “Saes”. Aged for 12 months in barriques.
Lots of elegance and character. Dense and intense with aromas of ripe fruit, spices and toast. Long and elegant finish.
