Description

Deep dark colour with opaque core, delicate violet rim lightening. Opulent, ripe berry fruit in the nose, bitter chocolate, finely underlaid smoky spice notes, some liquorice, black cherries, a hint of figs and also orange zest, redcurrant herb. Wonderfully dense and complex on the palate, wonderfully ripe fruit bouquet, extract-sweet, juicy tannins, substantial and yet beautifully balanced, berry confit, reminiscent of plum roast, chocolaty finish of fine nougat with a pleasant, toasty finish and lots of fruit melting. A very great wine, easy to drink with a wonderful length and a lot of ageing potential!
