Description

A delicious dry Riesling
A powerful, fresh dry white wine with a refined aroma and flavour of grapefruit, peach, toast and a complex, slightly mineral nuance. The finish is long and richly layered. Pleasant to drink neat or serve with fish dishes, both in the oven and outdoors. Keeps for at least ten years after harvesting.

Premier Cru des pressoirs Von Buhl
This is a very fine Riesling from the Herrgottsacker Premier Cru. The Von Buhl plots are located at the top of the hill of this ‘Grosslage’, almost opposite the ‘Grosser Gewächs’ (Grand Cru) Ungeheuer. The grapes grown here are therefore of a completely different quality to those grown in the lower, flatter parts.

This Herrgottsacker is of phenomenal quality and, in our opinion, on a GG level. A unique opportunity for lovers of top-quality Riesling. Only 35 hectolitres per hectare are harvested (less than is allowed for GG!) and the wine is aged for 14 months on the lees in large oak barrels.

The organic grapes produce a wine of particular refinement and complexity. It is also very ripe, with a superb balance between roundness and fresh acidity. The smooth, aromatic finish lingers for many minutes.

You can certainly enjoy this wine now. It can also be kept for at least another 5 or 6 years. The wine will then acquire the mature aromas characteristic of older Rieslings and will therefore have a more pronounced flavour. Taste this fantastic Herrgottsäcker and discover a first-class Riesling.
